Rainy Day Things to Do in Kelowna: Try a Floating Sauna on Okanagan Lake

Rainy days in Kelowna don’t have to mean staying inside.

Cooler weather is actually one of our favourite times to sauna. There’s something about stepping into a hot cedar sauna while rain hits Okanagan Lake that makes the whole experience feel even better.

Why rainy days work so well for sauna

The contrast is what makes it.

Warm up inside the sauna, step outside into the cool lake air, take a plunge if you’re feeling it, then head back into the heat.

There’s no set routine you have to follow. Move between the sauna, deck and cold plunge at your own pace.

And yes, Kuva operates during normal rain and cooler weather. If conditions ever become unsafe, sessions may be adjusted, but a typical rainy Kelowna day is part of the experience.

Choose the session that fits your day

Community — 80 minutes | $47
Our full sauna experience, with time to settle in and enjoy multiple rounds of heat and cold.

Express — 45 minutes | $34
A quicker reset for mornings, lunch breaks or after work.

Private — $259
Reserve your own sauna for up to six guests. The cold plunge remains shared.

What should you bring?

Keep it simple:

  • Swimsuit

  • Towel

  • Water

  • Easy footwear

  • A warm layer for afterward

You don’t have to use the cold plunge either. Sauna, cool down outside, plunge, repeat or skip the plunge entirely.

A different way to spend a rainy day in Kelowna

Kuva is located right on Okanagan Lake at Downtown Marina Kelowna and is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM during the season.

So the next time the forecast turns grey, you don’t necessarily need an indoor plan.

Warm up on the lake instead.
